Mission
The Women’s Cannabis Project advocates for female orgasmic difficulty/disorder (FOD) to become a condition of treatment for medical cannabis worldwide. FOD is a serious public health problem1 that affects the quality of life and health for up to to 41% of women worldwide.2 The percentage of women affected by orgasm difficulty has not changed in 50 years3 and there are no validated treatments for the largest group of women affected by orgasm difficulty. 4-5
Fifty years of research reveals that cannabis helps women orgasm and helps women orgasm who have orgasm difficulty.6-25
A recent study found that women who used cannabis more frequently, with or without orgasm difficulty, were 2.10 times more likely to orgasm.17
Female orgasm difficulty (FOD) has well known links to anxiety,26-28 cognitive distractions, 29-31 PTSD,32-35 and childhood sexual abuse, 36-37 among other physical problems. 38-40
A recent study revealed that women with orgasm difficulty had 24% more mental health issues, 52.6% more PTSD, 29% more depressive disorders, 13% more anxiety disorders, and 22% more prescription drug use than women without orgasm difficulty.41
We invite you to join us in supporting this initiative to educate our elected officials to add FOD as a condition of treatment for medical cannabis in US states and countries worldwide. Sexual health is a human right and as the World Association for Sexual Health states, “we have the right to scientific progress.” 42 educate the public and public officials about the and educating the public and public officials about the importance of female orgasm to mental and physical health.
